Hello North School Families,
As I enter my third year as Principal, It continues to be an honor to serve the North School community!!!
This time last year, we started the year on two campuses with students learning from home. The 2021-2022 school year will bring many changes. These changes include starting the year reunited, on one modernized campus, with new classrooms, play areas, and offices. I look forward to students learning in person while filling our campus with a positive culture, classroom discussions, laughter, and learning!!
I am proud to inform you, in the 2021-2022 school year, North School will be AVID School Wide. Our AVID goal of college and career for all, will grow as AVID Electives will be offered to our middle school students as an elective choice. We are growing our STEM program to include STEM design challenges with higher level questions, collaborative discussions and student led classrooms.
We are proud and excited to prioritize College and Career as our themed culture this year. All teachers selected a college as their classroom theme and will decorate their room around that college. Students will research the college and K to 8 students will hold friendly college competitions with fellow classmates. All students and staff will be part of North’s College and Career Thursdays, where everyone is encouraged to wear their college colors. Friday’s will continue to be North School’s Spirit Day where we encourage students to wear North School colors or North School apparel.
North School staff will continue to connect and grow partnerships with the community. Parents and guardians will be invited to Parent Café, 2nd Cup of Coffee, ELAC, School Site Council and Parent Club meetings. We will hold Movie Nights, Craft Nights, Music Concerts, Police Academies, and other activities to include Parent Workshops which will be new to North in the 2021-2022 school year.
I am honored and excited to continue this wonderful journey of serving the North School community. I will continue to connect to our amazing families through the power of positive relationships and I will continue to create a culture of successful futures. North School students, their families and our staff are my top priority. Together, we will continue to grow and move forward with high expectations and enthusiasm as students collaborate and grow through STEM activities, become college and career ready through AVID strategies and become 21st century learners while growing into skilled and independent learners.
We our PROUD North School Lions “Hear us Roar”!!!
